4. SETTING UP THE SAMPLE TRAIN

"Now that we have reviewed the functions of the calibrator, let us
set up the sample train to begin calibrating.
For our example, I will use a Gilian GilAir Plus pump with a 3
piece, 37mm pre-loaded filter cassette.
The accessories tubing kit comes with the cassette adapter.
The filter adapter that has a barbed end that is ¼” OD, so I will
want to use the provided step down adapter kit on my Gilibrator 3
to size down from 3/8” to ¼” tubing."
"Next, I will hook up my pump and cassette holder
to the cassette.
Note: Always ensure that the media is placed in
between the sampling source and the calibrator to
account for back pressure. Failure to do so may alter
the flow rates of sample."
