I don't see how she powercreeps Neuv. Her aoe is much worse, and now with the recent beta nerfs her dps is considerably lower. She still excels in single target, but imo her damage doesn't seem to compensate for her clunky gameplay and lack of QoL and Aoe Neuv provides. I would compare her to Lyney, he has theoretically some of the highest dps in the entire game but feels a lot more scuffed to play in abyss than Arle or Hu Tao.

I think this will be one of the first times I have no Idea if I want to get the character or not, she sounds incredibly fun and she looks awesome but like said in the video I'm not sure how good she will hold up through natlan and I really might just save for citlali I've just gotta hope citlali has a fun kit like mualani. regardless I can always get her on the rerun if I do end up wanting mualani

I agree with your takes; I doubt she will powercreep Neuvillette. I know Hoyo does not always do a direct powercreep in Genshin; Hoyo tends to prefer "different" or "niche" damage over the whole "X does exactly what Y does but X hits harder than Y". One of the exceptions was Inazuma characters shamelessly powercrept Mondstadt characters. That being said, every new region tends to define the META along the lines of new characters along with a new mechanic. For example:

1) Dendro characters and those who used dendro really dominated in version 3, and Nahida was the centre of that META, along with Baizhu, Nilou and Alhaitham.

2) Meanwhile in version 4, health drain/gain characters with marechaussee hunter and golden troupe artifacts tended to be the META with Furina at the centre, along with strong/teamwide healers, and DPS units like Neuvillette. And then the bond of life characters are still being fleshed out.

So, I think we won't know just how good the new Natlan characters are until we see them in action with the artifacts of Natlan, AND with the pyro archon. Just like we didn't know how good Nilou could be until Nahida came out, and just like we didn't know how good Neuvillette was until we got Furina. I'm waiting to see how strong Natlan character are before I pull.

She's worthless whale bait. It will be hilarious to see people hitting for 10 million at c6 r5. But for normal players, she's a useless waste of time.

Mualani is dead. She got nerfed. She is worse than Neuvillette. Genshin has zero female hydro dps. Kokomi is not a dps.
