Uggh this is sooo aggravating! Were getting the "coldest Jan in yrs" n these snow storms still get right where I live in east TN n looks like were gonna get ice r rain instead. How does this always happen? Its so cold but when we get any precip its not quite cold enough for snow. Weve been due a good snow for a while now here in TN, way overdue.

January of 2018 here in eastern NC we had a brutal cold spell for about a week. The Rocky Mount area was well below freezing for 4 days straight with lows near 0. It was so cold the Tar River completely froze over.

The good news for myself in Northeast PA, we went from 2-3hours of snow fall yesterday, all the way up to 13 hours today. Basically going from nothing to something. Even if its not super heavy it should get something to stick maybe an inch or two. Hoping the models keep ticking a bit more north with every model run for this first storm. Give the north storm #1 and the south storm #2.

Thunderstorms ⛈️ to ring in New Years Eve with an intense couple hour period in between 7 and 10 pm New Year's night on the coast of NJ in Island Heights, NJ near Toms River. Who would have thought? I hope the Euro and GFS are right for snow in my area on Monday. I am about 55 miles east of Philly. ❄️
