I've owned my Silent Hero for a while now. It's an awesome knife. I prefer my kydex to the leather sheath more times than not, but it will rust easily. One reason I do like the leather sheath, soak it in oil and the oil will continuously protect your blade as it gets coated Everytime it's drawn. I also prefer the smooth handle scales over the rocky mountain tread. This definitely not the best one tool option, as this knife lacks in length and the profile along with geometry does not lend it strength to baton some nasty hardwood that other knives can tackle. however pair this tool with an axe or similar tool, you're good to go. Though it is one of my favorite knives, I have to go with my TOPS SXB as my all time favorite. That knife I will confidently use as a one tool option, however pair that bad boy with good saw, no reason why you couldn't achieve to build most shelters or breakdown wood for a fire. The only draw back I see with any TOPS knives, none will strike a ferro rod unless you use your cutting edge, so it's best to have either a dedicated striker or piggy back a smaller blade with a sharp spine. Other than that, TOPS quality far surpasses most other manufacturers, not all, but many, and their customer service is top notch!
Nice video bud, though a bit lengthy, I did enjoy seeing the different sheaths you have and the minor modification you did to the leather sheath.

Sog S1 Bowie is the flagship although the trident is special. I have the Seki Sog original.

Good vid. I just bought one of these and I am in love with it. I see what you mean about the river wash coming off easily, but as far as I am concerned that is the only flaw. I don't care about the handle. BTW I have never heard anyone say that Tops invented finger choils. I don't know who did invent them, but it would be stupid for someone to think that Tops did it first.

That is a nice looking knife and I would like to have it and could use one that large for bushcraft and also for general use while in the forest or in a desert. It would be great for what I would be using it for here in Arkansas. The knife would be better if it had a bulkier handle like the BK2 from Ka-Bar to give the user more to grip on to.

Hey Forest Mantis check out the Tops Operator addition to a stronger tip I think it will address all of your concerns with the Silent Hero (looks like you have a great supply of wood for batoning!)-- :)

I have yet to own a Tops that I haven’t gotten an aftermarket sheath for.
