How to treat newborn Jaundice!??🤔 #newborn #jaundice #treatment

Показать описание
Newborn jaundice, also called neonatal jaundice, occurs when a baby’s blood contains excess bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced during the normal breakdown of red blood cells (RBCs).
Since newborns often have a higher count of RBCs, the breakdown releases more bilirubin than their immature liver can efficiently process and excrete. This leads to a yellowing of the skin and eyes.

Breastfeeding helps reduce jaundice by providing essential hydration and calories, which promote bowel movements that help eliminate bilirubin from the body.

When bilirubin levels are significantly elevated, treatments like phototherapy are used.
Phototherapy involves exposing the baby to special blue light, which helps break down bilirubin in the skin so it can be excreted more easily.
In severe cases, where bilirubin levels become dangerously high, an exchange transfusion may be necessary, where the baby’s blood is replaced with donor blood to quickly reduce bilirubin levels and prevent complications.#newborn #jaundice #breastfeed #treatment #mythsandmortals

Being a doctor it's not fair to shake the baby like this
Especially if it's not your child.

The way this man tosses babies around makes me wonder just how many of the babies in his "care" have shaken baby syndrome.
