This is by far Bob Welch’s best song. Has a psychedelic vibe to it.

There’s really three Fleetwood Mac era’s……the heavy Blues period ( 60’s ) with Peter Green, then this period with Bob Welch and Christine McVie ( 70’s ….my era! ), then the Nicks/Buckinham infusion and massive airplay.
All three periods were fabulous!

Welch was smooth. This song was the proof.

I absolutely love Christine McVie's haunting vocals. The core rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie is unmistakable.

The jazz guitar work on this song by Bob Welch is just exquisite. One of my very faves from Fleetwood Mac in the pre-Buckingham/Nicks era. The cover art on this album (Mystery to Me) is very iconic.

The early Bob Welch, Bob Weston era of the band way before Stevie and Lindsey. "Emerald Eyes" was another great song from the "Mystery to Me" album "Hypnotized" was originally on.

This is one of those greatest songs of all time. My favorite Fleetwood Mac song. I recommended this song in another First Time Hearing.

Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac has always been my favorite version of the band but I also love this early 70’s transitional/experimental era.

Omg so glad y’all got to this! This song is just magical and takes you on a journey of the mind when you hear it. Fun fact, the lyrics are actually about whether aliens exist and talks about a few legends and folk stories about them. This song is pre Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham Fleetwood Mac and had Bob Welch on vocals. His voice was amazing and the guitar playing here is literally hypnotizing.

Absolutely my favorite Fleetwood Mac song and has been so since I first heard it in the 70s. If you get he chance take a spin in your car at night with this song playing. I got to do this one October under a full moon. Mesmerising.

Good heavens! Not only haven't I heard this song in decades, I did not know Fleetwood Mac did it. I always thought it was Al Stewart. Huh! That's wild lol

"Why" is another song from "Mystery to Me", written and sung by Christine, that is just so bluesy and beautiful.

What makes Mick Fleetwood's drumming so powerful in this track is the strength and consistency of it. It's almost a drum machine. It's got a beastly quality to it. It's raw and incessant. This has always been my favorite tune of theirs. It's an unheralded classic of theirs which never got the live appreciation it deserved.

Old Fleetwood Mac. Before Stevie Nicks and Lyndsey Buckingham joined them. Most people don't know this grouping. Kudos. (Edit: Yeah, you said it later)
