I hate how earlier fans picked that sand line apart because when I was a kid I instantly got what he was doing. He was revealing a part of himself that he kept hidden. Anakin hated sand because it reminded him of his harsh upbringing and his mother who he feels guilt for abandoning, and that would ultimately lead him to trying to rescue her…and the further grief we find him encountering.

I don’t think the delivery was bad either. Like this is how teenagers talk and Anakin is 19 here, he’s not suppose to be cold and mature like Vader in the originals.

I feel like if you understand this, it’s really a pretty good line into his mental psyche and what’s to come tbh.

That's not flirting, he is in proud protective big brother mode watching ahsoka and lux. I don't know where people always get this illusion that Anakin and Ahsoka had anything romantic when the story clearly tells Anakin has Padmé and loved her over anything. Ahsoka is his student
