How to Make Edible Plastic (recipe at the end)

EDIBLE PLASTIC

Ingredients:

200g water or clear liquid
10g unflavored gelatin
1tsp food-grade glycerin

Steps:
1. Prepare surface/mold. I use a piece of acetate taped to a flat board. (You can use try other flat non-stick surfaces such as a non-stick pan)

2. Whisk together water, gelatin, and glycerin in a pot.

3. Stir constantly and bring to boil. Mixture should be completely clear.

4. Pour mixture onto non-stick surface

5. Set aside to dry for 2-3 days.

6. Peel off and use.

Could you use acetate sheets? I don’t have any plastic boards and I can’t work out what to try this out on! Any ideas would be super helpful. Thanks for this video though it’s fantastic! Can’t wait to try it

Does it have to be warm when it's being poured, or is it enough that it has been warmed and can be poured at room temperature? I've seen people can make bioplastic with beeswax and cotton kind of the way you mix plaster and fiberglass... I'm on the search for the perfect plastic replacement option.
