This is my favourite Mcar, a petty this didn't had S54 but they are even rarer. The controversy about the design at the time was always a topic. I prefer this to the roadster, a small shooting brake just brilliant. Nice one for bringing this rare version.

I was never really bothered about these at the time, but they’re pretty cool these days. They’re bloody tiny compared to modern cars; a few were at C&M last summer and they looked so tiny compared to new cars.

Nice review. I had a roadster same colour and same interior, for 8 years. Loads of fun once suspensions replaced by H&R and Bilstein, and shorter diff (3.64 from e30). Nice little car but the fixation of the diff on the trunk is a complete non sense, I had the chassis welded 2 times, just by driving it 8/10 on the roads...
Drove the same coupe as this one on a track, and so disappointed by the handling, lots of understeer.
I changed for e92 M3 manual and for nothing I would revert back to the MRoadster, although I miss nights blasting top down 😉

Owned two, a sapphire black and and Arctic Silver. Loved the looks(especially in black) but as a drivers car it never got under my skin. Steering was a bit slow witted and the engine never felt as fit as the numbers suggested. Made a few quid on both when it came time to sell, but no regrets about parting company - Itch scratched! :)
