Robert Schumann for Cello | Märchenbilder | Fairytale Pictures | Rasch

This is one of the most wild, driven and virtuosic movements from Schumann for a string instrument. Originally written for Viola there are a couple arrangements around for Cello. I have adapted a version myself and recorded it with my dear pianist Andreas Hering. Extremely challenging, as you can see, but very rewarding to practice and play! Many thanks to Andreas Hering, who went on this journey with me. It's been a great time on stages and in the studio with this music. Along with works from Martinu, Dvorak and Janacek.

Background:
The Work Märchenbilder is possibly based or at least connected to the letter and poem Louis du Rieux wrote to Schumann.

The CD contains works by Bohuslav Martinů, Robert Schumann, Leoš Janáček and is released via ARS Produktion, Annette Schumacher. Thanks for the collaboration.
