I was once lucky enough to play for Truls Mork when I was studying at McGill for a masterclass. No recording does his sound justice- in person it is truly liquid gold! Not only is he a marvellous cellist but he is a kind and gentle teacher as well.

OMG i just discovered this recording. My favorite chamber orchestra with one of my favorite cellist, playing one of the best cello concertos. Triple Win! May I ask who did the arrangement of this work?

It really is string orchestra!
I 've heard NCO's very beautiful sound in many pieces for string orchestra, but it's amazing for listening this concerto only for strings!
Is this arranged by Schumann himself?

It's really beautiful, perhaps too hauntingly so. However, this performance losses too much time throughout and was way under Schumann's tempi.
