The best extinct reptile name is Aerodactylus scolopacieps. Theoretically named Aerodactylus, or wind-finger, as a descriptive name, in practical terms named after a Pokemon

if you'd like an intro for fun scientific names, I'd like to put forward the mini genus of frogs named by Mark Scherz

Well, there should an extended part, explaining not the beginning but the ending part of the name.

-saurus: common use
-raptor: for small and fast predators
-ceratops: herbivore with horns
-dromeus: for runners
-odon: with distinct teeth

You cannot name "Tyrannoceratops Rex"

This video is so cool, if I were to become a paleontologist someday and discover a new dinosaur or pterosaur species via a fossil in the field, I would name it after its country, a celebrity or one of my favorite things.
