Penny sleeves are preferred over the sleeves you used. Penny sleeve is less likely to damage the card when removing it for grading etc..

Question. Seen a lot of ways for singles from eBay, any recommendations on sending one less than $20 PWE? Hear a lot of penny/semi rigid/team or slab bag. But have gotten nothing but top loaders in PWE and some get crushed by the sorting machines leaving print lines on the card. I’m sure this is listed somewhere else but enjoy how you explained this here.

You can use tape on the outside of the cardboard

I do agree that most sleeves from etbs aint the best but id look into pro playing sleeves

I agree no tape! I would rotate one of the cardboard pieces 90 degrees Tue add extra strength

Absolutely shocked that you didn’t know to use penny sleeve inside the top loader. This has been done for decades with sports cards. Long before Pokémon even existed, and blue painters tape is fine to use and widely accepted as the standard. Easy to remove and not as tacky (sticky).

You can envelope it for far cheaper and still take measures to make sure its safe

Pick up some card saver 1s. Saves the card from.moving around like it would with a top loader.

Those sleeves you used damaged the cards because they are for playing the card game. Very likely to cause scratches and more damages
