I'd argue that the Europeans didn't think the art wasn't African because of it being good art, it's because it's realistic. African art tended to be abstract. Even if they directly said that it cannot be African because it is 'good', europeans judged good art as realistic art. They're still crazy for the Atlantis part though.

I talk about Brazil a lot in my comments (good thing I'm no justin Y) But oh well. Brazil had most of its slaves being yoruba, and even more than the US, Brazil had MILLIONS of enslaved africans, and this made african culture way more rooted in Brazil's than most other colonies, all in all, most of Brazil's culture is based on yoruba culture, and it is beaultiful.
