Easybeats hailed from Australia. This was climbing the charts in the United States at #16 on Billboard and Cash Box on May 20, 1967 at the same time as the first psychedelic mega-hit "Somebody To Love" by Jefferson Airplane was right behind trailing at #21. They passed like two ships in the night the following week with Easybeats holding at #16 while Airplane soared to #10. A heady start to the Summer of Love while it was still in the spring. In 2001, "Friday On My Mind" was voted "Best Australian Song" of all time by the Australasian Performing Right Association. It reached #1 in Australia and the Netherlands, and #6 in the UK.
