I love this version because the attitude is so much more fitting for me than the original. In the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' version, it's sung by a girl who's really upset and feeling alone. This version changes to a guy's perspective who is simply telling the girl that she really needs to stay with him, because he loves her so much.

Learn a bit about human emotion. The point of the original song was about pure emotion. Maps is about being in love with someone (who doesn't love you back) but watching them go through relationships throughout their life. "Wait... They don't love you like I love you." Often lyrics are written and put forth in an art form. To convey a certain feeling, which is exactly what the original was intended to be. This is a cover and bares no meaning to the heart that spilled onto a piece of paper in 03'

I have every single album by The Fray. They are my favorite band yet I have NEVER HEARD THIS COVER until now! WTF... I love the original Maps so I'm so ecstatic to find this. I don't know how I could have missed it lol. I love this so much, I can't stop replaying

Holy shit, the Fray is my favorite band, but I was actually searching for a cover of one of my favorite songs, "Maps".... Do you know what it's like to find out that your favorite artist covered your favorite song? Because fuckadoodledoo, I just freaking did.

The worst part of covering a song is people "discussing" which one is better. Seriously, if you do that, you've completely lost the point of the cover! And then if you start insulting it's even worse. Why don't y'all grow up?

@CicconeYouth04 But surely the point of a cover is to reinterpret the song, in your own way, with your own twist, and your own meaning, not to just do the same thing. This song is covered a fair bit anyway, so it is great to hear a completely different version.
