Computing Department Tour

Third year Computer Science student JT and second year Creative Computing student Beth take us on a tour of the Computing department at Goldsmiths.

They visit the St James Hatcham Building to see some of the works on display (00:15), look around the physical computing facilities in the Hatch Lab (00:30), and talk to Dr Simon Katan about the module he teaches to all first-year computing students (01:11).

Beth meets practicing musician Atau Tanaka to learn about the Digital Arts Computing course (02:08), chats with the student-run tech society Hacksmiths (02:57), and hears about the immersive theatre and escape rooms created in Dr Sarah Wiseman’s module (04:24).

JT talks with Dr Alejandra Beghelli about the approach to teaching at Goldsmiths (03:27) and learns about his friends’ experiences on work placements (03:59).
