We purchased our new MUX in 2017 and towed our caravan which was just under 3 ton fully loaded. We travelled around Australia one and a half times in a year and a half. This car performed effortlessly and only used on average 12 to 14 litres per 100 kilometres… we were amazed at its performance and reliability then and now.

Looks like there is a problem with the trailer electrics. Your reverse lights are "ON" on the MU-X whilst you are towing... Did you check all your lights (car & trailer) prior to departure?

I have a MUX 2019, I bought a caravan that says it under 3 ton but the mux is having trouble towing it.
It tows it just labors alot.

I tow 2.5t behind my 2018 MUX lst daily and have to say it is a great tow car. average 13.5l/100

I use a 2015 isuzu mux to tow a 2.2 ton caravan ans i do not need to put equalisers with the high lift rear suspension which saves work putting on and off
