Introducing Project Wing

Project Wing is a Google[x] project that is developing a delivery system that uses self-flying vehicles. As part of our research, we built a vehicle and traveled to Queensland, Australia for some test flights. There, we successfully delivered a first aid kit, candy bars, dog treats, and water to a couple of Australian farmers. We’re only just beginning to develop the technology to make a safe delivery system possible, but we think that there’s tremendous potential to transport goods more quickly, safely and efficiently.

Amazon and UPS aren't the only ones looking into a drone delivery system. Some day Google Shopping Express just might use drones thanks to Project Wing.

On paper a great idea. Test run, looks good. In reality ???? Is it controlled by a person somehow? Or totally works by automatically? What if a bird hits it? Or an animal picks up the package when its dropped? Fragile parcels?

Hey guys, nice idea. Why don't you think of delivering the food packages(mainly meat to carnivores) to GPS tagged animals in the Bio-reserves or protected forests? Please think about it. It is proper food delivered on time, almost equally and no animal goes hungry.

Moving over a tonne of car and driver to deliver something less than a couple of kilos is an insane waste of energy when there are now practical alternatives.
