How can you compare a dedicated speedlight with a manual one ???
Yongnuo has a lot of dedicated ones to choose from if you really feel the need to „compare” Nikon with Yongnuo (568 etc.) :-)
This kind of „tutorials” are especially dangerous for the beginners.

Nope.
Nikon sb700 does not have HSS - high Seed Sync - YN685 has, plus incorporated receiver. So you will only need a YN radio transmiter.

Just a little thing. In the CL system you don't need to put the "master" flash onto your camera! :) And Yongnuo has newer HSS flashes on their assortments, so this comparsion its a little bit unfair. I have a SB-700, but I had used SB-910 before, and there is a huge difference between the two models, so if you want a good flash, the SB-910 is your friend! :) plus 2-3 yongnuo TTL.

I just got the sb 700 I have used big handle flashes like my sunpak 622 pro Without and adapter in Manuel mode but I want to try this to trust the setup looking at the ttl yonguuo with remotes so I don't want to lug around my novatrons . Cheap and functional gonna try it

I don't even use TTL's anymore. I use a Sekonic 478DR light meter and Yungnuo Speedlites. I do strictly manual. The only automatic I use is the auto focus. Learn about manual photography and get the powerful speedlite at a cheap price.

The problem with high sync is that you have to have the flash on the body and doesnt work through infra red!

My Yongnuo YN-560 IV lasted less than 6 months and was used maybe 7 times. To get it fixed I would need to send it to China.
