That awkward moment when your name has a bigger font than the name of your book.

Hey I've got a great idea, lets worry about moving to other planets when we can't even take care of our own. Brilliant!

We need to get going. Too bad we don't have more people who share Buzz's view.

Sorry William, you didn't say there was no gravity on the moon. However, at one sixth G and with no air, any particle (of whatever mass) will follow a parabolic path (or straight down) from its disturbance point, and fall to the moon. As I remember, on the Apollo 15 mission, one of the astronauts dropped a feather and a hammer simultaneously to demonstrate that in the absence of air, all objects fall at the same rate. They hit the ground at the same time. The video is on Youtube.

Before we send someone to Mars, we need to solve this planet's water and energy problems

Aside from benefiting from technologies from space exploration, being a space faring species increases our survival by being able to settle other worlds as our planet and our solar system will not last forever. Space exploration is the ultimate investment for the future of our race.

But imagine the possibilities, and especially the effects on countries if they know that one country has succeeded in sending people to Mars and colonize/start a base there. Technological superiority.

NASA's budget should be significantly increased so that we can stay ahead and keep learning new things and developing new technology. That's more important than giving money to people who don't work and bailing out companies that abuse people and fail to contribute anything.
