ADDITIONAL REVIEW NOTES:
The Galaxy watch6 classic came out one month ago and in the first month, there was a lot of noise and a lot of excitement surrounding this new smartwatch with it’s elegant rotating bezel and premium design. There were a lot of very positive reviews, and I myself said it could bery well be the best android smartwatch of the year
Now that it has been 1 month, it is time to set the spec sheets aside and see how this watch actually performs under daily use. I have been wearing this watch every day since it came out and I found a lot of things that were not mentioned in original reviews as well as some changes that have been made. In this video, I want to share with you what I found to be the most annoying setbacks, the in depth accuracy testing, and the most positive features that you might not notice when you first put the watch on

PRO
The larger display is so nice, especially for workouts

CON
Ending workouts is a pain
Samsung needs to reprogram buttons during a workout.
Annoying to end a workout
You can press and hold the bottom button to pause the workout though
What about laps?
What about stopping?

PRO
You can add multiple workouts and string them together with the + icon
GPS locks quickly
The trick - change settings!

PRO
Despite being the classic variant, it is more durable for sports than the active
Super durable - sapphire crystal display, stainless steel casing plus button guard
Button guard is essential in preventing accidental presses

CON
This has a new chip inside that is technically a bit faster, but I still find some significant lag, especially with tiles

PRO
Google integration is amazing
Google Assistant brings this watch to the next level
I tend to use Google maps a lot on my wrist when biking or riding a scooter

SPEAKER TEST

PRO
Comfortable for sleep

CON
I charge overnight so I never wear this to bed

I tried for a few nights and I slept well, so I guess the infrared LEDs worked
Pretty difficult to verify the sleep accuracy

PRO
Quick release strap is not the easiest to use, but wayyy better than before!
The watch transfer function is so nice! I switched phones multiple times

I regret not having the silver one

Battery life
TESTED
With AOD, I get about 1.5 days
With just gesture only, I get about 2 days

I really use this watch for four things
Time/Date/Weather
Fitness tracking
Notifications
Google Assistant - very fast! A huge improvement over previous years

ACCURACY
I wouldn’t wager much on the body composition
Sleep tracking is hard to validate

Marginally better than years past but still inaccurate
No multiband GPS
The new track run sport mode is a game changer! Except it tends to learn the track at an offset

This watch is clearly designed to be an everyday smartwatch and ideal for casual walking or treadmill usage. If you are serious about training, this is just too inaccurate. You cannot reliably train for a triathlon or any distance/time/heart rate goal with this watch.

CONCLUSION
This is probably the nicest looking and feeling smartwatches on the market. But you need to ask yourself why you are getting a watch? If it is for style, notifications, light health tracking, or just as an extension of your phone, then this is the best Android watch to get. If your top priority is fitness tracking because you are training for a goal, then I recommend the Garmin Venu 2 plus

Quick hack if you feel like your Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is feeling “laggy”: Go to your settings menu and click on about watch - Software Info - Then tap on software version 5 times, you’ll see developer options enabled. Go to developer options and change all the animation scales from 1x to .5x. I just did that like I do on my Galaxy devices and it definitely made the interface feel snappier.

I replaced my watch 4 with a 6 classic and set up the 4 to detect falls and gave it to my 95 year old mom (she hates the necklaces and won't wear them). Took a bit to get it hooked into Alexa but now she is thrilled with her new watch and I really like mine. Win-win.

I am using the silver 43mm 6 Classic and I agree that it looks so premium. My battery lasts 30 to 40 hours as advertised. No issues so far and I really like it.

Mike, for ending an exercise, you don’t have to swipe from right to left and press the X. Just map your back key to “Go to previous screen” and then you just need to press the button once short and press the X. A great video as always.

Hi Mike - I like your vids and always use it as a washboard for my thoughts on tech. You can enable developer mode (Go to Settings-About watch-Software information -tap on software version until developer mode comes on then go to developer mode and find animations and put all 3 down to .5) on the watch and bring down the animations to .5 - makes the watch feel overall snappier

As an older person with typical older person eyesight issues (my arms aren't long enough anymore!) my favorite feature of this watch is that I can adjust the font size. I can now read the text on my watch without having to grab my reading glasses. All of you young people with perfect eyesight have no idea how big of an issue it is to find a watch that you can actually read all of the stuff on it. I am typically a classic analog watch wearer and I can't find any one that I can read the date on without glasses. This is my first real smart watch and I love that I can put a classic looking face on it and can read all of the text! This is a huge deal.

I still use the OG Galaxy Watch 1 but thinking about upgrading to this because of some features I want. I'm just glad that Samsung didn't fully skipped out on the classic rotating bezel.

One of the few reviewers who actually gives a usable opinion at the end.

I bought the 47mm version to replace my Watch 3 45mm and it feels and look amazing. It's a bit larger in terms of footprint but not by a lot. The lag is not that noticeable and with some updates it could get better.

would love to see a speed comparision with the gw4/5 after those receive the the new one ui watch update the new one runs.
things like loading assistant, pay, the delay between when it turns on and when its actually usable, loading tiles, opening app, getting a gps signal, etc

Glad to see that Android finally getting some really good general usage smartwatches. I say explicit “general use” because I don’t see polar or Garmin as it’s real competitor, those are too specialized in my opinion.

And it needs to be said: the Apple Watch needs more pressure, more competitive conquerors from other brands, not that constant laggy cheap shit where you feel scammed every time you use it. And that one here is a good candidate for that! More of that Samsung and fix the lags to make it even more perfect, you guys are on a good way.

And app developers, get your butts up and Port apps for that! That device won’t survive with the stock stuff from Samsung. Calculators, Coin Flip, weather, brain training games, contacts, Shazam, stop watch, todo lists, go pro remote control… there is so much to add to this.

Greetings from an Apple Watch user

I have both Watch6 Pro and Huawei Gt 3. I must say the battery life is unprecedented with my Huawei Watch.

Having recently purchased the watch and paired it with the A54 cell phone, I must adnit I am a little suprised with some of your comments. Why would you charge it overnight? Bad for the battery. I am now just charging my watch 37%, it tells me 100% in 57 minutes so to leave it on overnight charge is totally unnecessary. I sleep with the watch it drops about 15% in an 8 hour rest. I have the phone beside the bed, about a 10% battery drop overnight. It tracks my sleep pattern AND my snoring - I now believe my wife about my snoring! As for picking up the GPS when starting on a walk it takes all of 5 - 10 seconds! AND when it does connect then that period of 'missed' record appears immediately and is shown, i.e.the warch shows I am 10 seconds into my walk and have covered so many steps. So there is no missing data. As for completion, as stated below, push lower button and up pops the red X, touch it and the exercise is saved, then scroll down to View on Phone, touch it and one can view/play with the info. as much as one wants.

Got the Watch6 Classic for a week and a half, coming from the Watch4. One thing I feel is that the sleep tracking feels less accurate than before. It tells me that my sleeping was great when I can feel through the day that it really wasn't, so there's something that needs a tweak I suppose.

Thanks for the review.
Yes, Silver looks more premium.

I changed from the original Galaxy Watch to the Watch 5 Pro because the battery is "not that bad" but instead of increasing it, Samsung reducing the battery capacity.
We gotta wait another year.

4:08: THIS "LAG" CAN BE FIXED. It's not lag, in the "Developer Options" is a hidden setting. DEVELOPER OPTIONS > WINDOW ANIMATION SCALE, TRANSITION ANIMATION SCALE PUT BOTH AT .05. What does this do? It speeds up the animations = NO MORE LAG. The "slow"/"hang up" you are seeing by default is just the default setting not sure why though. I'm guessing 1) uses slightly less battery 2) for old ppl who can't handle switching thru windows fast? lol
