Today is going to be epic, as I attempt my first ever interplanetary mission in Kerbal Space Program 2! Since we haven't got to worry about re-entry heating right now, let's do a nice, easy, simple Eve Rover mission, I am sure there won't be any glitches or game-breaking bugs or Kraken attacks that could possibly derail the entire mission multiple times. Oh wait, no, actually all of that did happen now that I think about it 🤔

My PC specs:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor
64 GB RAM
3840 x 2160, 144Hz

This video is intended for audiences 13+ years old.

The intro music is by the awesome Approaching Nirvana!
The song is called Sunglow, and you can stream it on Spotify:

This has become a high-quality comedy series. While I'm not willing to play it yet, it is fun to watch.

In Kerbal space program you fight against gravity, atmosphere and heating to reach your goals and plant flags. In Kerbal space program 2 they have innovated by making you fight the game itself.

I actually like that you can't just see the surface of Eve. Like in real life, KSP 2 should require players to send probes with appropriate scanning equipment (like the SCANsat mod for KSP 1). You can map the surface, and then send your rover or whatever and land it based on that scan data.

Camera bug is caused by using the moving tool in the VAB, you can check it after launch, by saving and loading the game, the 'cursed' parts will fall off. if no part fall off, you're good to go. You fixed your rocked when you deleted old fins and replaced them with new ones.

7:30 that bug is because sometimes parts of the previous stage stay attached to your current stage. And when you burn you move further away from those parts, making the game think the center of mass is between the old and new stage.
That might also be the reason for the spin, since the drag the other parts probably create are super far away from the rest of the rocket.

"The devs said they were going to slay the Kraken, they only angered it" - I almost fell out of my chair.

Needing to scan Eve's surface from orbit to find the land/biome and mark a suitable landing spot would add a unique extra challenge to eve missions.

3:30 I know it is not your fault but still reminded me of this masterpiece: "It is too round on the top. It needs to be pointy. Round is not scary. Pointy is scary."

KSP 2 devs two years ago: We slayed the Kraken!
Nate Simpson last week: Can I wear your Kraken Slayer shirt?
KSP 2: Has an even more aggressive Kraken than KSP 1 had...

Matt is officially the kraken slayer now

Someone needs to make a screen saver of just a rocket tumbling and firing every once and a while as it crosses the screen at random angles.

Matt is the only one crazy enough to try to go to eve wilst fighting the kracen

With the faring all you need to do is press the checkmark button and it usually closes the faring automatically. Even if it doesn't actually show the closed nose

This series is getting hellishly interesting.

this is so entertaining, it's like looking into a alternate universe where the universe and physics just REALLY don't want you to explore the cosmos but the kerbals are just too stubborn. you got this lmao. don't stop this series please

A streamer I watch discovered some parts experience drag as if they weren't covered by another part, docking ports were one example. I think this may be why the atmosphere feels thick, some parts are just a big flat slab directly hit by the wind, even though they're covered.
