It's Craig's last episode of Film and in it he's going to talk about weird stuff... and real stuff. Experimental and Documentary films could each take up their own Crash Course series. The different styles and intents of different filmmakers make each film unique. So let's settle in and have a look at how Experimental and Documentary films have evolved.

Craig, you made film history so much fun to learn. So interesting too. I came to this playlist on a whim, but you managed to get me to stay until the very end. Thanks for the knowledge and entertainment. :)

HAHAHA the final "no" getting 'no' reaction and just continuing with the script!! Your sense of humor is GOLD. You are all the things you mentioned hoping to be in this episode. In a single word, phenomenal.

Missed the obvious reference to one of my favorite movies, My Winnipeg which is both an experimental film and (kind of) a documentary. They did name check Guy Maddin though, so close enough.

"Youtube poop" is a good example of experimental techniques being alive and well today. Despite being seen as immature in nature, many visual/editing memes also seem to draw from this.

Sidenote: while working fro a cable company I had several customers asking about how the scientific community was reacting to the megaladon and mermaid sightings from two popular mockuentaries that were running at the time, not knowing they were works of fiction.
