I love what Ford is aiming towards. I’d love to own a hybrid or electric Ranger.

The maverick was successful because its price tag is in the 20s. 56k ain’t gonna cut it in a lot of the world

These guys are on the right track. It's not about speed of growth, it's about the quality of growth. Cranking out good product at those reasonable cost will keep people coming back for more.

I could care less about the full EV version but the hybrid absolutely has my attention. We'll have to wait and see what Toyota has lined up.

No problem with a recall. The truck has been outstanding since I got mine in May. 55 mpg in town and 40 on the highway. In comparison: my 2015 Honda Fit..5 recalls in first year. My 2008 Pontiac Solstice: 25 serious warranty problems in 2 years. The Maverick has been trouble free compared to them.

I have a 2019 XLT Ranger. I got it new in 2020 when I bought mine. It has only 16600 miles on it. That truck flies!!!

I liked the premise of running on the battery all the time with a gas generator on board to extend range.

Ford doesn't have to go all electric immediately to get sales. First of all, most of their consumer vehicles are going to get 30+ mpg within the next 5 years or so by becoming normal power assistance hybrids. That's fantastic on it's own. But I also imagine as batteries and other electric technology improves, they'll be able to do plug in hybrids.

A plug in hybrid with 20-45 miles of range on battery means most people will not use the gas engine on probably 85% of drives. And even when they do, 99% of the time they won't be using it for more than a few miles. For all intents and purposes, those are electric cars. In fact, as it stands today with electric infrastructure and charging speed, thats *better* than fully electric cars today because you don't have to stop for 45+ minutes on those 1% of times when you're on long trips.

So I think Ford is putting itself in a fantastic position to transition into EVs. I just wish they'd started the transition 5 or so years earlier. (And to be honest, the transition should have started back in the early 00's when GM built the EV1. But we know the oil companies intervened there.)

If there are 3 cars ahead of me at the gas station i will drive to another. Waiting for a charge while traveling would be a nightmare

I will be in line for a hybrid Ranger. Fuel efficient commute to work...and it will tow my 3200 lb camper....and I can fill up quick for long distance camping trips.

Ford has always been and always will be a rapid follower in the automotive industry. One upping it's competition along the way to catching up to them.

The dealerships are not the problem (some dealerships are better then others). The lack of products from Ford is the problem. Fill up dealer lots with product and all problems are solved. Dealerships with too much inventory are always ready to make deals and move product. Dealerships with only one specialty vehicle, have always charged over MSRP. Ford's EV production levels are slightly better than the production of a specialty vehicle. Many local dealers have yet to even see a lightning on their lot for sale. It remains to be seen when the lots will be full of Mach E's, Lightnings and the like. Ford has supplied you with great video footage and you are doing a great job at promoting the future of Ford. Now, lets see if and when, Ford can stand up to produce a large selection of EV's to choose from. Farley admitted to Sandy Munro, they had basically no vision when it came to building a lightning factory, and now he has to knock down a wall and expand. Of course you may say sales were so good they had to expand. Or you could say they didn't plan to succeed and were just testing the waters. Don't get me wrong. I want Ford to succeed and build Mach E's that have good batteries with good high voltage contractors and carry that over to their future EV's. Time, not words will tell the rest of the story.

hybrids seem the better way to go No EV drawbacks and not so darn pricey. That HUGE battery just cost to much.

FORD will always be a world leader in making vehicles for the masses. The trick will be when gas drops back down to $2 per gallon.

Unsubbing due to clickbait titles. Not everything is SHOCKING or HUGE.

I have been wanting to buy a F150 hybrid XLE to tow a 4500 gvwr camper. Cannot find one. Would be happy to order a ranger hybrid if they offered a 3 liter hybrid. 2.3 seems to small to pull the trailer I would like to use.
