That Superman #1 CGC #1 was still a steal to me. It presents very well for the grade, and an unrestored Superman #1 is a rare book indeed.

20% buyers premium and 15% sellers fee (can be negotiated). So, 35% goes to hetitage not the "seller". A $100, 000 book nets you $65, 000 then taxed also, while heritage gets the premium and tax write off for the auction costs (pens, staples and such).

When I listed my marvel comics 1 thru Heritsge I made sure they would not have another copy in the same auction. It always bugged me when seeing multiple copies of key comics in tge same auction like amazing fantasy 15. They told me that high grade collectors of keys are different buyers than the lower grades. I still made sure there was not a competing copy. They did bump my marvel 1 off of the cover of the catalog without telling me to make room for an action 1 they had just got in from an estate which did bother me.

Good video. Watch every post. I am the buyer of the Superman #1…I feel I got it at a good price. I think it sold below a lot of expectations bc I think brittle page books seem to do really poorly on Heritage. I’m a long term collector and will treasure the book.

I watched this auction and the silver and bronze comics that I was watching went for higher than fmv prices.

I think the color loss and tape really hurt this Action #1. Golden Age books in general have held their values very well. Early Batman and Superman comics are really scarce compared with their Silver and Bronze Age counterparts. I thought that Captain America #5 CGC 4.0 that sold for a paltry $4560 was a steal of a deal. Early Captain America Comics are really scarce and in high demand, especially issues 1-10.

I believe the buyers premium is in addition to their fee %, which is crazy.
