C7 Corvette: Plastic Trim Cleaning & Coating + Halltech Intake Finished

I needed to remove the plastic cowl so Safelite can remove my pitted windshield and install a new OE windshield. The cowl is really the only porous black plastic besides the front fender arches and rear fender guards. While the cowl was off, I cleaned it up with Meguiars M39 and gave it a coating with EXO V4 (I also cleaned up and coated the radiator shroud duct).

I had a new tool come in which will help me finish up the Halltech intake but I ended up buying the wrong version of it. This tool from Koul Tools will help me push the OE nylon hose over the plastic barbs which allows me to cut those hose to length.

Try dipping the end of rubber hose in hot water next time before sticking it on the barb fitting. It will lubricate and soften.

You can pressure wash the engine with no issues. I have done it on all of my 5 C7 Corvettes.

Do you need someone to walk you through where/how to get C7 parts from dealers? And the hood comes off super easy.

The haters and experts will try to make fun of you...but from the weekend DIY'er to the master mechanics...we've all had to struggle through things from time to time. Thanks for keeping it real Matt and Bryce.

Matt, do you need to throw those towels out after wiping the coating off the trim? I noticed you didn't use the green coating towels.

Bosch Aerotwin wiperblades are the best as far as I know.
That tool is pretty handy. Never saw it before.
By the way, it's not the flagship coating (of Gtechniq) :)

I like to soak my jewelry in Windex or any kind of ammonia based cleaner. Would there be any way I can apply that when detailing a car?

Matt's the type of guy that uses a Double Twistress to wipe down an engine bay.

I’m pretty sure that is a push loc press you have to buy a separate adapter for the hose and connection your trying to do from the pics I’ve seen of the adapters the stop would of been ok

you forget to mention that you americans do most things different, just to mention a few we use the metric system, you use feet rocks and stones, in mobile telephony you use other frequencies, etc etc. for us europeans and other world occupants its a lot of fuss to convert every freakin thing. Now you experience how annoying it can be with the hood :P

Here is what you should have called the series lol. “Doing a $20, 000 detail on my $80, 000 Vett”. That would really fire people up.
