I thought it’s because they don’t wanna deal with that kind of stuff?

It’s illegal to discriminate when hiring but also keep in my no one is forced to hire anyone. Small businesses tend to be less regulated than medium and larger companies as well

People forget you can have a more commonly known male name and be a woman or vice versa. Such as a woman named Max or male named Stacy. Peope forget that the names people have don't match that country's steteotypical use of the name. There is a reason you have the pronouns... those people with names that are opposite sterotypically of their sex dont want to be called sir or maam when theyre the opposite of whatever they are called. .

For the people hating comments- u can’t expect everything put on the internet to be right and not everytime people have to be kind and supportive. The comments are rational and logical

This makes me so sad. Especially all the comments in here saying that someone who puts their pronounds are "immature and unprofessional." I am a healthcare professional at a national health system that uses she/they pronouns. Our health systen encourages people to put their pronouns in their email signature and we collect patient pronouns at registration

Employeurs only see drama and liability when pronouns are made known. They probably do not personally care but they hâve to look out for company and preventing drama is more important. Only hâve yourselves to blâme with the craziness you hâve caused.

Since when does sexual identity even matter on a resume in the first place? If your pronouns are more important than the job itself your priorities are way messed up.

Absolutely agree! Update your resume! It's not going to hurt your career. Completely normal to use pronouns! How else would you introduce yourself? And discrimination is illegal anyway and you are protected by law against that, so there's really no need to worry. Somehow there are actually VERY FEW known cases of employers being discriminatory. I feel like it's something you hear about all the time, but really doesn't happen that often. And like the lady said, who would want to work for a company that isn't inclusive anyway? Hope y'all are confident enough now to use pronouns. Most employers will consider this as absolutely VITAL information✌️

its not that ppl dont want to hire ppl with pronouns but having pronouns in the resume gives off the impression that you're entitled, isnt resilient
enough to withstand the duration of probation/employment and demanding alot of things that wouldnt contribute to the workforce. makes ppl think you see yourself as a special snowflake who can get around things just bcoz you say so. and bosses dont care for ppl like that, they want employees who just come do work and be team player.

It's because it identifies them as an ideologue and employers don't want to deal with a potential law suit down the track.

Not yet hired and you are already suing.

as someone that was in a hiring position, pronouns indicate immaturity and unprofessionalism. the job is not about you, it's about the company or customers or organization.

Generally these people are a pain in the AZ. Why would an employer want to hire a problem.

You don’t put man or woman on your resume. You don’t put your age. So why put your pronouns? It’s an ideology not a fact leave it out of your resume. You are there to work not have your identity affirmed.

It's the same as including "Christ is my Savior" on the resume. Does anyone care about your religion? Maybe some people. Do they care that you seem to need to broadcast a topic which unrelated to your qualifications. Yes! Absolutely! Alarm bells!

I would judge a CV with pronouns on it with a much harsher eye than those without. That is because I would expect someone with pronouns on their resume to come with baggage, mainly in the form of being more likely to whinge and complain about silly things and take up a lot of admin time in doing so. I can't be dealing with that drama. P.s. I'm a gay man and I am highly embarrassed by the tactics that a large percentage of non-binary and transgender people are employing these days. In pushing harder you are just damaging the position for the rest of us

I don't blame those employers if it's between a normal person and a legal liability why would they choose the legal liability lol

If you put your preferred pronouns on your cv you might as well just write 'I am a huge narcissist and I will make the workplace miserable'
