Today we’re flying around with #bumblebees 🐝🐝

While bumblebees are some of the largest bees, they are generally gentle and unaggressive. These fuzzy black and yellow bees go from flower to flower, collecting nectar & pollen for food while they pollinate plants. Bumblebees fly around on four wings and flap their wings really quickly— 130-240 beats per second!

Like other bees, bumblebees have a queen bee, male bees & worker/drone bees. The average life of a bumblebee can range from two weeks to one year & the majority of bumblebee colonies die off before winter. Only the new queen survives, hibernating underground during winter and then coming out at springtime to create a new colony.
