A unique greatsword moveset for Helphen’s Steeple with a new unique skill, “Ruinous Ghostblade”.

This mod gives Helphen's Steeple a unique and more dynamic moveset that gives the weapon a bit more personality.

This version of Helphen's Steeple replaces the Zamor Curved Sword.
It also messes with the physics of the Glintstone Pebble and Ghostflame Ignition skills. If you download this mod, expect these skills to behave weirdly.

I love that it has the Curved Greatsword attacks for most of the attacks. Curved Greatswords are my favorite "heavy" weapon type since they have such an acrobatic moveset.

yo this moveset looks so sick - i wish fromsoft could make movesets like this at least for the unique weapons. though i also saw that you made a moveset for the dragonscale blade but never put it up for download, when would that be available?

I love the fact that you're making the unique weapons more unique. I love the dragonscale blade. And would love to see more like it. The Bolt of Gansax or Dragonking Cragblade come to mind as weapons I would love to see harness their dragon nature more.

This is so clean and quiet it feels like I'm watching Zullie the witch and I'm certainly not complaining.
All jokes aside the alternate moveset looks awesome and I hope you cover more weapons in the future like the cinquedea etc.

Man, having the last attack of a R1 combo (and fully charged R2) do something extra, adding some special effect, makes the weapon moveset stand out so much more, I'm honestly surprised FS didn't do that to every unique/special weapon in the game, it could have been an incredible and entertaining detail, great video

I've always been fascinated by the idea of a life draining weapon in these games and Elden ring got really close with talismans like the godskin swaddling cloth and ash of war blood tax but I still feel like it never became fully realized. Id love to see a weapon mod that fully realizes the fantasy of a vampiric kind of weapon/playstyle cuz I would download the hell out of a mod like that.

This greatsword is awesome btw.

This is absolutely incredible. If only fromsoft was willing to do this, it feels like they're scared giving us more things like this will make the games too easy, which isn't true but oh well.

I loved the design of the helphens steeple but was dissapointed when i atually used it but you made it even cooler and (probably) actually viable. I just wish fromsoft would implement it.

helphen's steeple is my favorite looking greatsword so i was a little disappointed when it turned out to be just a reskinned version of the onyx blade, but you did it proper justice, thank you rusty

Now, seriously, this is fantastic, especially the reworked WA. So many possibilities for an engaging and fluid combat, and on a character it looks like the guy actually knows how to wield a sword and kill things with itas opposed to the default moveset. Rusty, your weapon reworks mords are a blessed blast, keep 'em up! Would absolutely love to see more of those! For example, a small rework of Morgott's Cursed Sword approaching the way Morgott uses it himself would be awesome, I think.

I do have a few critiques for any future new movesets you do, as Im beginning to see some patterns with these.

Please, slow down some of the attack animations swings. The animations dont look very good at such a high speed, and it feels far less impactful than a greatsword should be.

More importantly: PLEASE STOP REMOVING THE WEAPON BUFFS. Your removing the actual uniqueness of the weapons and making what is effectively a completely different weapon using the same model and a similar concept. Same thing with changing the magic damage of the steeple; Not every weapon is supposed to be good against every enemy. Its a magic greatsword, effectively the counterpart of the holy inseparable sword. Its supposed to not do well against magically immune enemies. Thats what infusions, especially cold, are designed for.

I also really love the bonus ghostflame and ice lightning flourishes on charged heavies/the ends of attack chains, but perhaps you could make it more like the ringed knight spear; the skill is a buff attack, and then it augments the moveset once buffed.

And lastly: Stop overdoing the weapon skills. Please. I respect if you like making these super flashy skills, but there is a reason they dont exist in the game. Something slightly more toned down would fit far better in the game. An example for the dragon-scale blade could have been: Pressing the weapon skill uses the Hoarfrost stomp skill animation, and summons a large number of ice lightning bolts in a cone infront of the user (Like the actual spell) and then following this up does the original weapon skill and buff. I love giving unique weapons the love they deserve, but the way you are going about it fundamentally destroys the base concepts of these weapons; you arent making a "V2" Your making an entirely new weapon.

Also, this is more an issue with the last video on the dragonscale blade; but there are legitimate reasons it doesnt have lightning damage. Frost lightning is a far weaker "False" lightning. The dragon halberd doesnt have any lightning damage either, and it legitimately makes sense from a lore perspective.

Love your work though; these movesets sure look cool, I just worry that they loose the identity of the original weapon.

I love all of those movesets but there’s something about them that, if they were implemented in the game, they’d ruin the essence and soul of what you see when you hear “Dark Souls” or “Elden Ring”. They are perfect as they are and I’m happy that they’re created. As mods.

I wish Fromsoft did this with unique/boss weapons. So tired of them having the base moveset of whatever weapon they are but oh shit they have a weapon art! That doesn't make up for it whatsoever. Wonderful mod, man.

Hope this mod gets updated for current patches, I'd love to try it out for myself esp Aesthetically Helphen's Steeple is def my fav weap in the game aesthetically. High time it got a stylish move set and art to match! :D
