Also what you´re calling "native Goldfinch" is a different ssp. as what I consider being a native Goldfinch. As yours is from the UK most likely, it´s "Carduelis carduelis britannica" while for me in Central Europe it´s "Carduelis carduelis carduelis".

Hello, I would be interested in what you'd recommend/discovered in terms of their diets. What they'll readily eat, what they'll avoid, what they need. More so your own experiences. You could also discuss light cycles and so on. Specific cage dimensions for breeding. Etc. I understand that all of this can be found on the internet and that those weren't the topics of this video. I am not saying that you should make such a video but it would be nice to see all the information stacked into a video

I vaguely remember someone giving me goldfinches with orange through the yellow bars on the wings
Always have them nesting on my land normally in the young trees or garden shrubs like lilac

british finches only need to be rung correctly if you intend to sell or show your birds. if your not in to showing or you don't sell your birds then it is not a legal requirement.

@0:44 you´re showing a male American Goldfinch (Carduelis tristis) which is of course not a ssp. of Carduelis carduelis. And, btw., scientific names are not built only by Latin :-)
