artists that actually care about their fans would understand that some people don't have money to buy every album they want

Taylor Swift with a net worth of about 200 million dollars is having a breakdown due to piracy? Am I supposed to shed tears and empathize?

So artists complain they are losing money but yet they still can afford million dollar mansion and luxurious cars?!?!

They should be thankful they are making a living from it and getting paid for making music cause when these people started out they were singing for free and these labels didn't have to sign them.

I can barely afford my apartment and struggling. I would love love to be able to afford any house even it's it's small as I'm tired of renting! I would trade my life with one of these artists in a heart beat.

Why don't these artists get placed someone's shoes like me or even someone in a third world country and then they will truly see how better off they are even with people pirating their music.

I'm not saying I'm for pirating but it's going to happen reguardless even back to people making mix tapes.

Also there is a lot of artists out there and don't care that people download their music for free cause they know it's getting their music out to a wider audience and those other people that get to hear that music can make them end up going to their concert and or buying merch which is where the artists make most of their money anyways as the record labels "steal" most of their revenue and don't give the artist what they deserve.

Those artists are the ones that are true to their music and not about the money. Where is the interviews of those artists?

It's pretty hard for me to feel bad for someone who's making so much money.

To all you greedy Hollywood studios, I just want to let you know that I've downloaded over 58 TB of your movies, TV shows and 243, 176.56 songs. I'm using 2 proxy servers and a VPN, so just try to catch me.

As a professional musician of 40 years, I’ve learned I’m lucky just that anybody gives me the time of day to hear me, let alone pay me to work for them. These wealthy, heavily sponsored artists - if they spent HALF the time that they do going after the poor kid who can’t afford to see or hear them, if they instead worked on their music and let the market bear what it bears (give the people what they want), people would WILLINGLY pay to see and hear them, even if file sharing were an option. There’s also YouTube which pays for us to see content with ads, which is a great way to deal with it. But the lavish superstars that bare their greed - as a man and as an artist myself I utterly reject that disposition.

What is more important? an industry to be highly profitable, or culture to be widespread?

These people have more money than I'll ever make in a lifetime, even with a Master's degree, and yet they still whine that they're not making more. Give me a break...

I won't steal music, but I don't understand, why can listen to full albums on YouTube with out paying for them, so is it wrong to down load your favorite album, if you already heard it on YouTube.

It was inevitable once music went digital it would be shared. It's nothing new in a way. People used to record music off the radio all the time. What has changed is the recording industry is no longer able to charge sky-high prices for a 5 cent plastic disc. The artist was always screwed in any case.

I don't download their shitty music anyway. I download from artists that tell me to pirate their music.

So, if you're poor you don't have right to listen to music or watching a movie?
Yeah I guess that's what the industry really wanna say. The industry's fault is that their albums, streaming services and tickets to movies or concerts are extremely overpriced.
A real artist cares more about the happiness his/her art gives to people instead of ripping wallets of laymen with their unjust prices to tickets and membership fees.

What I don't get is this !! " Why put your Stuff on Youtube if You Know it is going to be Copied, Pirated, or whatever ? Should it not be that, whatever one picks up, one keeps ? Like, Finders, Keepers ? Even on the Internet ? Keep Your Music and Movies on CD's and DV's and NOT ON YOUTUBE !, and it won't get stolen, or whatever you wanna call it ?
