Basically i learned it this way and it helped me a lot :
Major : W-W-H-W-W-W-H
Minor : W-H-W-W-H-W-W

W : Whole Step (2 semitones)
H : Half Step (One Semitone)

Also you can remember that by saying :
They both have that ( W-W-H-W-W )
But major has another (W-H) at the end
And minor starts with (W-H)

Just sharpen every note up,
e.g from CMaj to C#Maj scale ;
C-C#, D-D#, E-(E#/F), ... etc

My teacher taught me the same. She taught me tone tone semitone, tone tone tone semitone.

Even better: you do not need to remember anything. If you forget, you can just look at the piano and get the pattern.

For major, just start at C and look at every white note.
For minor, start at A and look at every white note.
