Collector here! Here are some tips.

To see the actual value of a Beanie, check the three lowest prices other comparable Beanies are currently listed as. Average them. Be sure to check sold listings, too. However, beware. Some sellers fake winning bids. If a sold Beanie has sold for thousands of dollars, but had only had one bid, it is a fake sale.

Additionally, there are thousands of counterfeit Beanies floating around. Be cautious and consider getting your rare Beanies authenticated before selling them.

NOT ALL ERRORS ARE RARE. Punctuation errors, Gosport misspelling, “original” and “surface” misspelling, difference in hang tag and tush tag date, missing “U.K.” after PO15 5TX, written birth date in numbers instead of letters, space between exclamation point and end of poem, missing red stamp inside tush tag, having both the R and TM symbol on the tush tag, and having PVC pellets is NOT RARE! These are printed on large quantities of Beanies, and some of them are not even errors. Also, ALL Valentinos, Curlys, and Libeartys have a brown nose. “1965(KR)” is not rare.

Most rare beanies have only a handful of listings on Ebay. They also tend to have swing tags that are 3rd gen or earlier. Almost no Beanie babies with 4th gen tags or later are of much value unless they have unusual traits such as a missing arm, nose, German tag, etc.

Princess the Beanie baby has some value, but not as much as many websites claim. A princess Beanie handmade in Indonesia with PVC pellets has value around $100, though this Beanie is very rare.

If you have made it here and believe your beanie has value:

Does it have both tags? A missing swing tag cuts the value by up to 95%. Tags in mint condition without a single crease, tear, or stain on it is desirable. Average the sold price of legitimate listings that the same Beanie of the same quality has sold for. Also, check the buy/sell ratio. If there are 100 listings but less than 40 have sold, it is not worth your time.

The 2 that you thought were worth 200-300 dollars could maybe be worth that much but it depends on so many other things like what pellets it has tag errors and stuff like that, also on eBay I recommend you going to what sold because lots of people think their worth more than they are. Hey Audrey I loved this vid and I love TY beanie babies too! I used to collect them a long time ago and don’t anymore since it can be expensive to do! My hubby bought some too a long time ago but he mainly did the bears since those can be worth more money! I collected what I could so I did all the different animals they had and what not!
