Conversions are a great way to make your wargaming miniatures really your own, and kitbashing is the easiest type of conversion. I'll teach you some beginner concepts so you can start building your way.

This guy needs to go into audio books I swear. His tone and voice is the reason i think I watch his channel over any other for table top miniatures.

Poster putty is the unsung hero of the hobby. Side bar, my brother herd “I just stuck that knife right in his chest” out of context lol

I started playing Orks because I love unorthodox models! Basically all my models were either converted, kitbashed or scratch-build. Ork bikers from Dark Angel and Eldar bikes, a few tanks and trukks made from old toys... My first thing ever were ork Nobs stuck in terminator armor. Good times, man.

Great video! I convert and kitbash 90% of the miniatures I make, my favorite thing in the hobby. Here's to hoping for more videos discussing more on the topic!

It was fun to se pigiron on the list, they've got some great stuff!

And thank you for everything you do for the hobby!

Kitbashing is definitely something I wound up indulging in a lot, especially for my Aspiring Champions I've done thus far. One of my personal favorites I've done is I got a pair of spare legs from a buddy (they seem to have been Blood Angels at one time, they got the weird sigmarine helmet kneepads they like plus purity seals), used that to toss on a spare marine torso, added a Terminator Lord chain-loincloth-thing to the back of the legs, Warp Talon arms for claws, and then a spare Terminator Lord helmet. Guy looks kinda imposing striding forth, but considering his arms are upwards I can't help but picture that 'oh, are you approaching me?' meme every time I see him either >_>

My bits box is over 20 years old and contains such diverse things as zoids weapons (used to convert the original Adeptus Titanicus warlord titans), Dark Future missile pod and roof mount, the old sand-plastic beaky marines and even the heavy bolter from the first metal Space Marine Dreaadnought and the chaos tail conversions, also for the original Adeptus Titanicus. I may not convert or kitbash too often, but I'll never throw away a useful part

Thanks Uncle Atom, I'll hold on to my parts every chance I get.

"Holding onto your parts" brilliant! Great video, I have been in the hobby for ages and never had the courage to do this. Till now...maybe.

I’ve done two kitbashes so far, both for characters. The latest was grinding down a space marine captain’s arms so I could fit the gun and relic blade that come with the Dark Angels upgrade sprue. That was fun.

I am a fan of kitbash/conversions. I am an ork player and obviously I love to make converted stuff. Recently I made a Morkanaut being half morkanatut half defiler with some other bits thrown in.

The model could be "perfect" and I'll still want to convert it, lol. I've ordered from both Anvil and Puppetswar and I cant say enough about the quality and quick delivery even in the states. Also, I cant believe I've been watching these videos for as long as I have and didnt realize Atom is located in Wisconsin too. Keep up the quality contrnt!

“pop goes the monkey“ on shapeways has some great bits for marines, dreadnoughts, tanks, knights, etc. as well as chapter and squad markings.

As an AOS enthusiast, i once took a Stonehorn Beast (from the Ogor) painted it with a forest style, a bit woody, and put Ylthari's Gardians riding it on the top, it looks great!

my first attempt at conversion was with pre-assembled dnd models, i took wings from an aasimar and crudely stuck them to a tiefling with superglue and baking soda. it's... messy.

Fun tip: you don't need multiple kits to kitbash. I've done a lot of stuff by clipping and shaving parts from one guy in a kit and gluing them to different places on another guy, like taking an optional axe, shaving off the hand on it, and putting it on someone's belt as a side-arm. I had some guys from a kit that had three officers, and used all the various bits to cut and shape different backpacks for each officer so I could have a guy with a comms unit, another with an oxygen tank and one more with extra ammo and a side arm.

Every army I've done has some degree of conversions, usually towards a cohesive theme. It's one of my favorite parts of the hobby.

I just did my first bit of kitbashing two days ago. I wanted some gue'vesa for my Tau army so I got the 5 man Cadia kit and a fire warriors kit. I cut the tau legs right below the knee pads and cut the human legs right above the boot which goes bit up the leg. Clipper slipping on the smooth surface was a bit annoying but dealt with it and after a bit of dry fitting and filing it looks great. I particularly like one who has one foot on a primaris helmet, looking to the side, pulse pistol out in right hand, little radar thing in left and pulse rifle on his backpack. A mate of mine said how it might be hard to see them being human since it’s only the feet that had been changed really but they still need to be painted and I feel that since I know that they’re special is what makes me happy.
