I don't mean any harm but he may not be able to regain his form and have to retire after this terrible injury. Anyway, he belongs to the group of older players and he can only play for 1 or 2 more seasons, but this retirement could happen sooner.

Let's be nice to him. I've had surgery for my ACL after tearing it while playing football. The surgery and recovery are hell, taking a year to return as one adjusts to life.

I could do other stuff while I recovered but for professional players playing football is all that they do and it is surely frightening for them of the prospects to not come back to the same level.
