You want a creative bass line, go listen to larc en ciel. The bass lines literally sound like singing, and it always different on every part of the song. One of many exhibits that you dont have to slap or shred to show off your bass skill. Go listen to "stay away", "lose control", "butterfly's sleep", "route 666", "cureless", "driver's high", etc. Don't limit your range of music by only listening to western bands. Sorry, but it's funny whenever a youtube channel shows a "great bass line of all time" video, they always show the same western bands like muse, queen, tool, rhcp, primus, etc. I suggest to explore music outside western countries. Oh, btw, talking about western bands, people also always forget about infectious grooves (rob trujillo), suicidal tendencies (rob trujillo/ra diaz), mudvayne (ryan martinie), rancid/operation ivy (matt freeman), winery dogs/mr. Big (billy sheehan). Those bands have some killer basslines. Great video btw. You're really a great musician.

If you're a guitarist and you like rhcp. There's no way you'll hate every flea bassline. In every song of them the guitar and bass support each other (great example is the around the world) during the intro the guitar supports the bass riff cuz the bass is on the lead and during the verse and chorus the bass supports the guitar cuz guitar is playing the lead part. So in the end, it shows us whats the relationship between the guitar and bass.
