In the summer of 2019, I spent a month cycling 2,500 km through Norway, from the southern city of Bergen to the Arctic city of Tromsø. In this video, I discuss five things that I learned about cycle touring in Norway.

Thanks for watching! If you're interested in learning more about my ride through Norway, my book about the trip is available on Amazon: shorturl.at/coqxG It includes notes about about tunnels, ferries, and camping in the wild, and a percentage of royalties is donated to the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation.

Thanks for the video - I'm considering bikepacking Norway at some point and may take a small tent and a hammock so I've got flexibility in where I camp

Late to the party, but a useful and nicely produced video. You were abit unlucky with the weather last summer, Western Norway is rainful, but normally the weather is somewhat better than what you experienced. If you ever considered doing this again in Norway, try starting on the other side of the mountain range, in eastern Norway, were there is a greater chance for drier and warmer summerweather. Still hope you had a nice time!

Thank you for your tips, you've done a rare thing in being inspiring (wow! it looks amazing) and informative (top camping tips) whilst remaining very practical (tunnel map) realistic (rain) and entertaining (great drone shots) thanks you have given me a lot to think about... 🚵‍♂️🌦️🏞️🏕️⛰️🤔

Hi. Nice video. I must say you have been very unlucky with the weather. It's not normal with so much rain in June and July (22 out of 27 days). I'm from Norway and I have been cycling around in this country for many years - in all parts of the country, East, West, South and North. When I'm planning a longer cycle trip I prepare for maximum 50% of the days in rainy weather but it is always less.

Awesome video! Do you have a link to the route that you took? Was thinking of doing south to north following a similar route in the summer! Thanks.

Thanks, some great tips and information there. I'm going in July. And well done on the ride, that's a great achievement. Just some feedback on your editing. Your music is too loud over your voice. I found it really difficult to hear you. It would be much better if you cut the music while you are talking to the camera.

Very inspiring vid, one suggestion: look at the camera lenses, looking at the monitor is not engaging at all. Thanks for sharing
