Two females were driving home during Thanksgiving on a dark, winding mountain road when they saw a car stopped in the middle. Thinking it might be broken down, they honked, but a man got out and just stared at them, making them uneasy. After a while, another car’s lights appeared, and the man quickly drove off.

Some people are just so helpless... in the first story for example. The sketchy car stopped right before a blind curve, I can't safely pass it waaah. Well, what's the flow of traffic on the road like at that time? How likely is it that there'll be oncoming traffic for those 10-20 seconds? From the way they described this route, doesn't sound like it gets a ton of through traffic, so what's the problem? Nah, let's just sit here and have a panic attack instead. Sure the guy was still going to tail them afterwards even if they did that as the rest of the story illustrated, but it's better than just clamming up.

That road sounds like it'd be a really fun drive though. I forgot what state she said it was in, but I'm getting Smokey Mountains vibes.

Some people just freeze up in stressful situations. In the first story, a sketchy car stops before a blind curve, causing panic. They could've checked the traffic flow and taken a chance, but instead, they had a panic attack. Even if the driver was going to tail them, it might have been better than freezing up. That road does sound like a fun drive, though—Smokey Mountains vibes, perhaps.
