Having been diagnosed later in life I can attest to the relief found in just realizing how many behaviors and “problems” I’ve had over the years which can be attributed to symptoms of ADHD. Whether you’re seeking medication treatment or not…just knowing your diagnosis lends a world of insight and new ability to manage yourself. Knowledge is power.

Finally diagnosed at age 32. When my first dose of medicine kicked in I cried my eyes out because of the beautiful quieting of my mind. I then realized that it was not normal to have a racing multidirectional thought pattern like I've struggled with since I can remember.

I can honestly say that being diagnosed and treated for ADHD has completely changed my life. I have reenrolled in college and doing fantastic. My severe depression and anxiety has just disappeared and I feel the most stable mentally as I can remember.

I only wish I had been diagnosed as a child. I can imagine I would have a completely different life at this point. Maybe I wouldn't have tried to unalive myself 4 times if I had been treated.

All I know is I'm so grateful to have found a doctor that finally listened to me and helped me change my life.

DXd after my second kiddo was born. My symptoms worsened to an extent that my usual strategies were no longer overcoming daily hurdles. I've been medicated now for almost a year now on a stimulant and guanfacine but I'm not even close to who I was pre-pregnancy. Those hormone changes significantly altered how my brain seems to work. Both medications help but I feel like a shadow of who I was and it's really starting to impact my job due to subpar performance.
