One feature of the interior that Hammond didn’t talk about: physical buttons! Too many EVs have been trying to copy Tesla’s styling of a touchscreen only system, but doing it very very poorly. Bringing back physical buttons for climate control etc. is a great choice.

I tested the R5 last week. I totally love it. The design, the haptics that just make sense everywhere. It feels like this car will drive forever. And It looks amazing. I even thought to Sell my Q7 to get an R5.

If I want to know how many liters the boot capacity is, the range of the battery, the recharge time and what colours it comes in, I will look that up on a spread sheet on the Renault or dealers website.

I was gutted when the real top gear ended. I was gutted to see the grand tour end. I am going through some severe health issues atm, but to see you doing your thing is wonderfull! You have made my night Mr Hammond (and the rest of the team!)

Love how Renault are smashing it with design at the moment. They just need to give us some great hot hatches again! And ideally petrol ones. I've had my Clio 182 nearly 10 years and still think it's the greatest hot hatch of all time. The way it delivers on a UK B road just ticks all the boxes. It's perfect.

I actually have one of these on order and what drew me to it in the first place was the fact it's just a nice-looking object. It looks like something someone enjoyed designing, compared to so many other new cars that look algorithmically generated to be as generic and marketable as possible.

My best mate had a Renault 5 back in the 90s as his first car. 1.4 and we ragged it everywhere and it was brilliant.

I am french, I had the chance to drive a Renault 5 turbo 2 as my uncle owned one, I drive today the Renault 5 electric and I feel the same state of mind ! The car is good looking and drive it is so fun !
