This is good stuff. I'm someone that spends a lot of time transferring data/settings from one computer to another. Typically when someone buys a new machine. Perfect. I was looking for a free tool and this seems to be the best solution. PcMover Express isn't free anymore, transwiz sucks at installation (with remote desktop), so this is really straight forward, even for a single machine and a single account. Thanks for this hint.

On the new desktop, you simply dragged the ADK file over for installation, what if you have like 40 computers? Go to each machine and drag them over?

1.) do source & destination PC's need to be in domain? Can I simply save scan-state file on USB and load it to other PC? If yes, you have any video on that :D?
2.) do both of PC's need to be in the same network? what if I have remote users? shall they use vpn or something else?

Thank you very much for the very informative and easy to follow instructions. Could you please explain how to follow a scenario where you are using the tool on more than one pc... I got an error because a "USMT" folder gets created after the first computer uses the scanstate and writes to the "MigStore" folder. Do you need to "pre-create" sub-folders ahead of time (on the file share) for each pc that will be dumping their payloads there and then use specific instructions on them in order to use such "sub-folders"? Good stuff sir, however I am lookig for data restoration; am having a dell laptop which crashed, and I reset the system after the data back up on boot failures, that created a folder do_not_delete which has .mig files onto an external Hard drive; Now am unable to restore them back to my d drive; kindly tell me the appropriate command
