I confirm how crazy 2004 was for the Greeks. I, a German, fortunately had the opportunity to spend an academic year in Patras back then and I can honestly tell that the weeks during the Euro championship were the craziest of my life. Omg. Those pure happiness everywhere. Everyone dancing with everyone. Drinking beer and smoking weed with the Greeks. I learned to love the Greeks and Greece. Hasn’t changed! Malakas ❤️

Greece winning the Euros still doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

I remember at the time everyone called it anti-football. When in reality it was a defensive masterclass.

They defeated Czech (the favourites), France (the holders), and Portugal (the hosts). Just magical.

Werder won the double and whooped Bayern in Munich (seems unlikely now😅) to secure the league title

03/04 saw Leeds get relegated too, which I understand to newer football fans doesn't sound massively unusual but back then they had as recently as 3 years ago been champions league semi finalists

Arsenal Invincible's were something else...

2016 could be a shout too. How Portugal without Ronaldo managed to beat France and of course we all know about a team that is called “The Foxes”

I would like also to mention Iraq making it to the semi finals of the summer Olympics that year which is an astonishing achievement because of the circumstances in the country that year.

Brilliant video idea.

Even though I believe Valencia were a quality team back then. It takes a lot to beat Madrid's Galacticos to the league.

2011/2012 is honestly an underrated season. All the clubs that would usually win their respective domestic competitions didn't
• Real Madrid winning La Liga during Barcelona last season with Guardiola, during El Classico greatest era, Mourinho VS Pep
• Dortmund being the last team "before Bayern won it 10 times in a row" to win the Bundesliga
• Montpellier winning the Ligue 1 before Oil SG came into the picture.
• The Infamous on game 38 in the PL.
• Bayern becoming "Leverkusen '02" and bottling all three competitions including losing to Chelsea in the finals.
• We witnessed Drogba get his revenge on UEFA with his win with a Chelsea side that was the underdog.
• Juventus took their place back from the Milan Era.
• Radamel Falcao helping Atletico Madrid win Athletic Club in the Europa League.
• Messi's world record of 92 goal in a calendar year AND his record of 50 goals in a single La Liga Season which still stands to this year. To realize how crazy that is, the only people to hit 50 in a league campaign in modern football (2000- ) is. Messi. The closest to him is Ronaldo in 2014/15 with 48.
need i say more

2014 was crazy at least in South America, Libertadores and Sulamericana was insane, where San Lorenzo won their first Libertadores title against teams that had no tradition in the competition, while the Sulamericana semifinals looked like a Libertadores semifinal.

2004 also Deportivo La Coruna defeat Ac Milan after lost first leg 4-1 and win 4-0 in second leg in Champion League quarter final.

When football was still a beautiful game instead of "all for money" which is now

also possibly just as amazing as Greece winning Euro 2004 was the fact that Latvia even qualified for it and they drew with Germany during the tournament.

Latvia haven't been anywhere near there since

According to me, 2018/19 was the best season for the Champions league and for football in general

One of the best seasons ever!
Also, the Galacticos were playing some of the best football ever, just pure elegance.
Then they got eliminated by Monaco and surrendered a massive lead in La Liga by not winning any of their last 8 games and they finished 3rd!!

It’s also the last season where both Barça and Real finished trophyless, Zaragoza won copa del rey

I remember being in Colombia during summer break and watching the Once Caldas vs Boca Junior with my family. The country went crazy when they won. Everyone was supporting them even though it wasn’t their team.
