Real talk tho, when Stealth fighters eventually come, the F-35 is gonna be in every tech tree except Russia and China.

T-90m and T-80bvm manuals were also leaked this week by a war thunder player but it was not on the wt forums

Gaijin: “guys stop sending us classified documents.”
Also Gaijin: “anyway we’ll implement it.”

Russia and China would like to thank every war thunder player .
Truly you guys helping so much on lowering the spending on spies❤

Gaijin has literally said that when someone leaks classified documents, they will intentionally make that specific vehicle less accurate for everyone as a punishment. And yet people keep doing it

Even though Gaijin certainly will reach a point where it will introduce the F-22, F-35, Su-57, J-20, the new Turkish Kaan, and the Japanese, and Korean indigenous 5th Gen fighters, maybe even the F-117 "fighter", as the first stealth ground pounder. I think that these planes would need a significant revamp of the way the game is played.

The ever present game mode in WT is a team death match, and the Meta, even after Fox 3 missiles, still revolves around on getting into WVR combat to either shot down the enemy with missiles at minimal ranges or enter in gunfight range. What the Fox 3 missiles brought to the game was bigger maps where it would make sense the use of more advanced Fox 2 and the first generation of Fox 3 missiles, so those planes who have these missiles could start the match climbing to high altitude, fire the missiles on targets 40-60 away, sometimes more even though, in real life the maximum operational range, -- i.e. the range they could still lock and have enough kinetic energy to effectively maneuver against their targets -- for most of these 1st gen Fox 3 RF missiles, are usually 2-3 times or more that number, at around 120-180 km.

If stealth planes are introduced, in situations other than than 4rth gen stealth planes like the F-117 strike "fighter" or the B-2 bomber, both of which have no self protection weaponry and rely only on stealth and launching attacks from stand-off distances with different munitions, like laser guided glider standard bombs, cruise missiles, smart bombs, cruise missiles or nuclear bombs, etc. and fly away before being detected.

Every stealth plane that came after those two, i.e. the real 5th Gen fighters and multi-role planes, these planes operate on a very different meta, that isn't very much compatible with the War Thunder game style.

All of the 5th Gen stealth planes in active service like the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, the J-20 Mighty Dragon, the Su-57 Fellon, and their variants, and the fighters currently in test or advanced development phases, like the FC-31 Gyrfalcon, the KF-21 Boramae, TF Kaan, the AMCA, the Su-75 Checkmate, all these planes are optimized to operate in such a way that they should never be In a situation where WBR combat is needed, with few exceptions they give upt most of what makes a great dogfighter and trade it to have increased low observability, so they could almost always fire their missiles, bombs, etc. from ranges far away from detection, or make the detection range so small that the enemy would have no time to react, before being hit, let alone manage some sort of interception.

Sincerely even the current generation of Fox 2 and Fox 3, have extreme operational engagement ranges, the current in service and in development Fox 2s like the AIM-9Xs Blocks 2 and 3, the ASRAAM, the IRIS-T Blocks 1 and 2, the R-74M and M2, the AAM-5, the Python 5, the MICA IR, the Pl-10, the A Darter, all have an operational range between 20-60 km. Far beyond the gunfight range that's usual in War Thunder matches.

For example an F-35A this 20-60km range is what is considered as being a short range combat engagement. They could fight a hell of a lot closer, but in the F-35s case it isn't advisable to engage on in WVR dogfight against an enemy fighter because they would probably loose against most 4-4.5+ Gen fighters o a turn fight, and even the US Military admits its no match on a dogfight against the F-16s. But, if you let them fight using the rules of engagement it was intended to use, 95% of the time, the F-15, F-16, or F-18 would be taken down without even realizing they are about to be blown out by a missile launched from distances between 30-100 miles away.

The F-35A and F-35I (the Israeli F-35A) are the only variants with an internal gun, the F-35B and F135C have external pods with guns, that reduces their low observability characteristics, so usually it's used on their "beast mode" where stealth isn't essential.

Even so, the only reason the F-35A has an internal gun is because, after the disaster on Vietnan, the USAF issued a police that no USAF combat planes would be accepted for service if they don't have an internal gun, but realistically, they probably will never use it in service. Just like the F-15s, F-16s, and the F-22s didn't made kills using their guns.

And I say that because the last registered air kill with a gun made by an USAF fighter and Enemy fighter was probably in Vietnan, F-4s against MiG-15s, MiG-17s and MiG-21s.

The whole rason for Operation Bolo to há happened on the Vietnan War was to prove to USAFs higher ups that with the low rate of success of missiles of the time, like the AIM-7F and AIM-9B/Es, the most effective way to fight against the more maneuverable MiG and their ambush tactics, was to maneuver until they bled their energy and then use a gun against them.

Maybe there could have happened a gunfight against Iraqi Dassaut Mirage F1s or MiGs during Operation Desert Storm, but IIRC for the whole duration of the ODS the only air to air kill made with guns was made by an US ARMY AH-64 Apache, against a Iraqi Mi-24 Hind Helicopter, and that was the last air to air kill with a gun made by an US Military pilot.

So the engagement envelope of the F-35, and to slightly lesser degree of the F-22, since it is slightly less capable against non-stealth fighters than the F-35, is far from the way War Thunder currently operates.

Their fighting style is precisely the opposite of the most common types of battles we have in War Thunde, since they are made to engage from very long ranges BVR combat, without ever getting into dogfight range to the enemy.

I can see a very powerful role for them in Sim and EC Style battles if implemented correctly, but not on Air RB or Air AB. If their flight models have a modicum of realism, the F-22 probably have a very good chance on a dogfight against conventional fighters due to its great maneuverability, but would not have much stealth advantage on such close combat situation. In the beginning of the match, they may have more room to launch their AIM-120s, but once they get closer than 20km, the current top tier 4th Gen jets radars should be able to detect and get a missile lock on them with the chances of being hit by enemy missiles increasing the closer the F-35 or F-22 gets to the other team planes.

In the case of the F-22, ot also have some problems in detecting and locking on other stealth planes, as both plane and its sensor suite and corresponding software arquitecture were designed when there were no other stealth planes for them to fight against, so not much optimization for getting into a fight against their own kind of planes. But is is incredibly powerful and maneuverable due to thrust vectoring, and at dogfight ranges, they would not have much of a problem against its 5th Gen peers, just from affar.

In the case of the F-35, if they fight War Thunder style, they are toasted, because it isn't good at dogfight in the more conventional way, let alone the War Thunder way, they have power and acceleration, but would not have neither the speed nor the turning capacity present on almost all of the 4-4.5+ fighters in the game.

This would literally break the game. Imagine a plane you can't detect sending rockets twords you beyound visual range.

It's just 4 rockets but even so.

It was definitely a world of warplanes player who leaked these files

If they added the f 22 that thing could wipe a whole lobby in like 3 minutes it would be so overpowered

The F-35 can do the cobra. It can also recover from a flat spin, do the petal turn, falling leaf, etc. It can also hit 50° aoa sustained as well as having one of the best acceleration rates of any fighter due to the sheer diameter of the engine and it's thrust. Larger diameter engine = more surface area to extert force.
