When my daddy bought this farm in the late 80’s when land was next to free he started a decent size farm that I eventually took over so now I’m looking back going we should have bought more land, but never look back

It was hard to buy cheap land in the early 80’s. I had regrets about not buying more in that period. But I think everybody forgets how high the interest rates were those times. The farm crisis was on. And even though land was less than $600 an acre and a lot of it around for sale interest rates of 15 to 16% scared me off totally.
High inflation was also a factor!

My Daddy took advantage of the '80s crash of Farming when families that had farms for generations had to sell out for next to nothing. Whats your excuse?

Step one to get started in farming: have your Dad buy you a huge farm in the 1980s.

Never look back and ask what if, what if, what if. You might learn from your mistakes. It's better to remain ignorant.
