The big landlords behind many of Ontario’s rent hikes

A CBC News data analysis looked into which corporate landlords applied most often to Ontario’s rental housing tribunal to raise rents above provincial rent control guidelines in 2022. As CBC’s Sarah MacMillan explains, it found that 20 landlords filed over half of the 470 applications in the first eight months of the year.
