I have a speaker like that. Mine works quite well and have it 2 or 3 years. And the battery life still holds up quite well. When charging battery You need to disconnect them from the battery charger. Mostly it's not good for them. It cuts down on their lifespan. I strongly believe that most people having battery problems is that they overcharge the the battery.

Don't buy it, my battery died within a two years and Altec Lansing will supply no information where to purchase a new battery or a part number for the battery. it's now trash.
