It looks so much better than previous versions and any of its competition; it gives a much higher premium feel than its price would suggest. I would love it if its powertrain were a bit more powerful and if it had a more off-road capability, as its looks imply. :)

Surely the Ultimate is the best one to go for then? Ventilated seats, sunroof and the safety kit as standard

I wish they'd put 3 separate seats in the middle row. All the manufacturers seem to prefer the 2+1 bench style and that centre seat is very narrow. Good news if you only want to use 2 seats normally but not for families with 3 kids.
Then the rear 2 seats in this Santa Fe have no leg depth, his knees were up in front of him.
It's a huge car, it looks impressive, but the seating - which is key in a 7 seater - has put me off.

13:10 Can you please clarify bit more why the fuel economy will not good if the plug in hybrid battery is fully used? Also Does it not recharge itself like a regular hybrid while driving?

Was thinking of mentioning this to someone who has just had his LR discovery nicked - but then I looked up tow capacity of this - about half of a disco.
I imagine its off road performance is equally lamentable. So, its a nice enough SUV for people that never actually have any need or expectation of 4x4 LR type performance - but it is certainly no Land Rover alternative - 'bargain' or otherwise.

Calligraphy isn’t really the top model - the Ultimate has better choice of interior, pano roof etc and doesn’t have horrid shiny plastic trim outside.

Santa Fe is actually in Granada, Spain. The US version is named after it, rather like New York is named after York ;)

I love my 2025 Santa Fe Calligraphy Hybrid. It has "loads" of features and has a quiet and smooth ride.

Needs a good diesel engine .. v8 or v6 to be worth consideration

That really doesn't look like 'lots of apce for luggage'. Try going on a camping holiday with four kids. It's fine if you occasionally need the extra row of seats for a day out but I can't see it working for a family holiday.
I still think something like a VW Caddy beats this on space and price... although not on luxury.... but you get enough space in a Caddy to go on holiday and take luggage, tents etc. At least that's been my experience.
