EPCOS Thyristor Modules

Показать описание
EPCOS Thyristor Modules In its product line EPCOS AG offers special electromechanical modules that are used to decrease the current surge when connecting a capacitor by as much as 4 times, thus creating a rather comfortable mode for operation of capacitors and other devices in the power grid. Today's thyristor modules come with the capacity of 12.5-100 kvar. They can be applied both, with a filter throttle and without it. These low-loss thyristor modules are supplied with current-limiting resistors of the additional terminal block that come in a special protective cover. The thyristor modules offered in EPCOS product line are also known to have the widest spectrum of supported capacities - from 10 to 200 kvar. This includes 50 and 200 kvar modules that are specially designed for 690 V power grids with high harmonic current and voltage distortion. The terminal block in these devices is not prone to wear, which is a clear advantage if compared to electromechanical contactors. Besides, the thyristor modules facilitate soft communication between the capacitors in an unlimited amount and with an unlimited frequency. Another plus is the low response time enabled by the high-speed regulator and connection at a given moment in time. All of this helps to save life of the compensation unit stages. This type of thyristor modules can be best controlled by a high-speed regulator, like BR6000T. However the condenser stages should be used with special powerful discharge resistors (discharging chokes and standard ceramic discharge resistors are strictly prohibited!). If the compensation unit does not come with filter throttles, one should also use current-limiting throttles.
