People that are making over $100, 000 a year have no clue what the blue collared workers are going through right now. I wish every blue collared worker would just unite and demand liveable wages. We were there for everyone during

The hold up is that Cornell can't find a way to blame this mess on Republicans.

The Cornell lady said Cornell had used "every single avenue" to get the workers "where they need to be". (Could she have meant "belong"?) Not as dumb as they look", huh? Sorry/not sorry. The Cornell lady you interviewed said the problem was the union was using old data in their negotions. She wouldn't be implying that the newer data would show the cost of living went down over the past several years, could (Take a good read on how one can lie with statistics, to say nothing about the growing number of peer reviewed studies found to be bogus. ) No wonder Cornell would like a mediator to negotiate for them!!!
Over the past 4 years my Social Security Retirement payment has risen about 17.5% to cover inflation - and you know the government is not overly generous. Cornell proposed paying its workers an increase equal to about 17% BY THE END OF 4 YEARS, That means workers' pay has already taken the huge 17% hit from the past several years of inflation, and Cornell appears to be saying, " You'll get that 17% back BY THE END of 4 YEARS. JUST WAIT, PLEASE." Meanwhile inflation continues, food prices rising, housing costs rising, cars you need to get to work are more expensive, and Cornell's invesments are making tidy returns,
"JUST WAIT, PLEASE" How patronizing and insulting
Apparently, Cornell, a bastion of "enlightened intellectual growth and liberality", is reticent to apply these core principles to the workers it relies upon to minister unto students', faculty's and staff's physical well being and comfort, this, so the beneficiaries can focus more completely on "higher pursuits". Does Cornell not understand how this system is meant to work, or are they blinded by the short sighted management vogue of squeezing every drop of value from the "underlings" at the least cost to serve the "bottom line"?
I understand Cornell has a business school, but they also have a position, "soul", and reputation. In this matter may Cornell have the wisdom to comprehend the physical foundation on which great institutions are built - the physical well being of their participants - and offer generosity and respect to those who serve it and them.
